Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton trolls Knicks commentator after earning All-Star honor

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton trolled New York Knicks color commentator Wally Szczerbiak by changing his profile picture on Twitter to an image of the former NBA forward.

Following a Knicks victory over the Pacers in December, Szczerbiak went on a rant criticizing the 22-year-old and calling him a "wannabe fake All-Star." Szczerbiak — who played six-plus of his 10 NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and was a one-time All-Star — went on to say this regarding Haliburton.

"He’s in his second year. He’s a very good player. He’s not going to make the All-Star team. A guy like Julius Randle or Jalen Brunson will make it over Tyrese Haliburton. Tonight we saw why."

Haliburton (who's actually in his third season) was chosen as an All-Star reserve on Thursday night.

While Randle made the All-Star team as well, Brunson didn't.

Haliburton and Buddy Hield were traded to Indiana in February 2022 as part of a blockbuster deal that sent All-Star Domantas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings. Haliburton leads the league in assists per game (10.3) and trails only Jimmy Butler, O.G. Anunoby and De'Anthony Melton with his 1.8 steals per contest.
