Report: Tristan Thompson, two other Celtics facing seven-day quarantine

The Boston Celtics will face the Washington Wizards on Friday night without Tristan Thompson, Grant Williams and Robert Williams.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the trio faces a seven-day quarantine due to health and safety protocols. Carsen Edwards was initially in that group, but he cleared protocols and is available for the team.

According to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, Robert Williams tested positive for COVID-19. Thompson and Grant Williams are out for contact tracing.

Thompson, Grant and Robert Williams have been a huge factor in the Celtics' success this season. Thompson is averaging 8.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 52.9% from the field.

Robert Williams is averaging 6.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game off the bench while shooting 77.4% from the field. Meanwhile, Grant Williams is averaging 5.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 45% from the field and 41.2% from deep.

It's unclear who will fill the three roster holes, though Celtics head coach Brad Stevens will likely address that before Friday's matchup.

The Celtics are 6-3 on the season after winning their last three games against the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat.
