The Houston Rockets are reportedly expected to part ways with DeMarcus Cousins in the coming days in an effort to get younger in the frontcourt. However, head coach Stephen Silas downplayed those rumors on Sunday.

Cousins is averaging 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game off the bench this season while shooting 37.6% from the field and 33.6% from deep.
If the Rockets do release him, the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly expected to be among teams to pursue the 30-year-old. Cousins signed with the Lakers last season but did not play a single game for the franchise due to injury.
Cousins and the Rockets are preparing to take on the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
