The Cleveland Cavaliers are back? Through six games the team is 3-3 with convincing wins over the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers. What’s been most notable is the team being competitive with opposing teams during this treacherous stretch, never backing down and showing tons of promise.

The guards have shined, the frontcourt looks to be a force to be reckoned with and the wing position is…what it is? The production from this position has been underwhelming, showing why this is a position you cannot neglect.

Lauri Markkanen is the team’s starting small forward and so far, the inconsistencies in scoring and the lack of defensive abilities have been prominent. Though it hasn’t been all that bad, it hasn’t really been all that good either so it’ll be interesting to see how long this three-big lineup lasts.

The other options aren’t great either. Isaac Okoro’s lack of an outside shot makes him a bad fit alongside the frontcourt, Cedi Osman has his ups and downs, and Dylan Windler hasn’t shown enough to warrant consistent minutes.

Lamar Stevens has gotten opportunities and has been solid defensively but again is someone who isn’t a good fit with the frontcourt. The lack of wings has led to extremely wonky lineups. Markkanen has been discussed but 3-big lineups with Kevin Love and 3-guard lineups have also been used.

Essentially, this position needs a big upgrade and there are players that the team could look at until they find a long-term option. Terrence Ross, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Jeremy Lamb, all of whom our own Will Holtz is on-board with as potential trade targets, could all be short-term solutions, but what if the team wanted to go for a more long-term route?

Enter Cam Reddish as a possible Cavs target.

Cam Reddish’s name is one that floated around in trade rumors during the offseason and is someone who the team should take a deep dive into. Averaging career-highs in nearly every statistical category, is he even available and should the Cavs pursue him if he is? Let’s discuss.
