NBA fans witnessed a repeat of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals matchup in the Summer League.
Similar to the postseason, the Indiana Pacers overpowered the New York Knicks as they registered a solid 91-88 win in the 2025 NBA Summer League.
Despite losing the game, one Knicks player grabbed the attention of fans, and it was none other than Marjon Beauchamp.
Beauchamp was originally the 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The Milwaukee Bucks showed trust in the forward.
Speaking of which, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was impressed with Beauchamp’s ceiling, as evident from what the Greek Freak said of the current Knicks star in a 2023 article by USA Today’s Rookie Wire.
“I think he has a skill set that is unique. He plays with a lot of energy. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and he is a guy that leads by example. He is not a big talker,” Antetokounmpo said in 2023.
The 2x NBA MVP added: “He’s going to go out there, play the right way, and try to get the job done. It kind of reminds me a lot of how it used to be when I was younger.”
Beauchamp spent two and a half seasons in Milwaukee before the Bucks parted ways with him in the 2024-25 NBA season.
After playing just three games for the LA Clippers, Beauchamp played the rest of the season for the Knicks.
Fast forward to the 2025 NBA Summer League, and Beauchamp showed why he was a first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Beauchamp finished the night with 28 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Knicks. He also notched 1 steal and 1 block in 29 minutes of playing time.
The 24-year-old also shot lights out from the field, including a 6-of-11 display from the three-point line. All things considered, Beauchamp has made a case for himself to be included in the regular season rotation.
This certainly gives head coach Mike Brown a sigh of relief ahead of his debut season with the Knicks.
