The New York Knicks are off to a great start to the 2025-26 season, tallying a 7-4 record in their first 11 games to be in the top three of the Eastern Conference standings.

They did lose to the Orlando Magic, 124-107, during their Wednesday showdown, but prior to that, they won five straight games — with victories against teams such as the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies.

Jalen Brunson has been at the core of the Knicks' incredible run, averaging 28.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns has been equally impressive with 20.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, they got some troubling news on Thursday regarding their best player in Brunson.

The 29-year-old guard got injured during their loss to the Magic when he rolled his ankle with less than two minutes remaining in the game. He was seen walking gingerly before exiting the floor.

After the game, he was reportedly seen with a walking boot and crutches, while head coach Mike Brown didn't provide an update on the severity of his injury.

Now, according to the latest updates, Brunson suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain and is set to miss the Knicks' game against the Miami Heat on Friday. The two-time All-Star will also be evaluated day-to-day moving forward, per Ian Begley of SNY.

It remains to be seen how long Brunson will be sidelined, although he will have some time to rest. After their game against the Heat on Friday, the Knicks will have a two-day break before returning to action on Monday against the same team. After that, they will play the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
