A flurry of roster moves around the NFL should help the Colts accomplish a key offseason milestone just in time for training camp

The Indianapolis Colts, like many around the NFL, have struggled to get their second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft signed.

The Colts have signed every player they drafted this past year, other than their second-round pick J.T. Tuimoloau, but the recent flurry of roster moves around the league should help them hopefully get that taken care of before training camp begins next week.

Significant movement with rookie contracts for second-round picks should help the Colts sign JT Tuimoloau

For most of the offseason, only two second-round picks had signed their rookie contract. This was because the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns issued the first and second fully guaranteed contracts ever for players selected outside of the first round. On Wednesday, the dam finally broke, and multiple signings came as a result.

The Colts drafted Tuimoloau with the 45th pick in the second round, and on Wednesday, the 43rd pick, Alfred Collins, signed his rookie contract  with the San Francisco 49ers; however, it did not include a fully guaranteed deal. Since this move, other second round picks have put pen to paper, such as RJ Harvey with the Denver Broncos, and notably Los Angeles Chargers WR Tre Harris who was reportedly set to hold out of the start of training camp without a signed contract, which caused some to worry that other second round picks would follow his lead and do the same, which would bring some unneeded drama as they begin their preparations for the 2025 season. Thankfully, that holdout ended before the Chargers ever took the field. Hopefully, one of the next dominoes to fall will be Tuimoloau signing with the Colts, which would officially give the team a fully signed draft class. And with the team reporting for training camp in less than a week, time is of the essence.
