2020 NFL Draft will be conducted in virtual format

Unfortunately for 2020 draftees, the NFL Draft officially will be conducted in a virtual setting, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sent the memo below to all of its teams regarding the draft:

When looking at the comments to Pelissero's tweet, people don't seem too thrilled by the fully virtual format, but unfortunately, there's just not much the league can do at this point amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, it seems that some teams will get creative with this new format. Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins will be on hand at the team's virtual draft party, according to CBS Sports.

You can probably bet that more teams will have at least one player on hand to welcome the drafted players to their organizations. Despite not being able to greet the players in person, this still is a pretty cool way to go about business.

Who knows, maybe the NFL will do something to make it up to these players once the 2020 season begins. Regardless, this is going to be different, and no matter what your thoughts on the situation are, fans are likely to at least tune in for a little while to see how things go.
