Joe Flacco had a fairytale year last season. Due to a quarterback crisis, the Cleveland Browns signed veteran quarterback Flacco as a free agent. The QB showed his magic. Due to his efficiency, the team managed to secure a place in the postseason. Though the Browns had an early exit in the playoffs, the performance of the QB won hearts.

Following the performance, speculations claiming that Flacco would return to the Browns touched new heights. However, the quarterback sent a message to all the teams that are looking for a quarterback for the next season. As per ESPN journalist Tony Grossi, the quarterback would prefer to get a starting position in any team. He is keeping his options open.

Grossi further reported that the quarterback has no specific timeline to secure a deal. He has kept himself open to possibilities. However, the QB has no problem going back to the Browns and playing as a backup QB. Grossi also reported that money was not an issue for Flacco.

For his contribution on the field, Flacco won the ‘Comeback Player of the Year’ award in 2023. The QB also earned the trust of the offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt . Next season, Pelt will be in the New England Patriots. Hence, there are speculations that the team might go for a new quarterback. Nonetheless, nothing is confirmed.

Joe Flacco aside, the Browns will be looking to solve the quarterback problem

Over a few years, the Browns have suffered the most in the quarterback zone. Last year, the team witnessed their three quarterbacks going down with injuries. Hence, they had to call up Joe Flacco as the regular quarterback. This season, the team needs to manage the quarterback problem, should they not opt for a regular option.

A few years back, the Browns signed Deshaun Watson. However, he has not provided the service that he was expected to. He also missed a lot of games due to multiple controversies in the 2022-23 season. Last season, he suffered a shoulder injury that prevented him from playing. The fans are eagerly awaiting to see Watson in the action.

The situation of the Cleveland Browns has attracted a lot of eyes, especially from the media. It is to be seen whether Flacco returns to the team.
