Few NFL executives match the aggressive tactics of Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. Despite the disappointing end to the 2023 season, Roseman has crafted an impressive roster for the Eagles.

As the team gears up for the 2024 season, Roseman is undoubtedly strategizing to prevent a repeat of last year’s letdown. The pressing question now is: what trade opportunities exist?

Known for his assertive approach, Roseman doesn’t hesitate to pursue players on the trade block or in free agency. So, what moves could we anticipate from his playbook in 2024?

Let’s explore two potential deals that could greatly benefit the Eagles.

Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos

While the Eagles may not be actively seeking a receiver nearing a contract renewal, their championship aspirations demand bold moves. Jerry Jeudy, a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, stands out as a prime target.

Despite both the Broncos and Eagles drafting receivers in 2020, with Jeudy and Jalen Reagor respectively, circumstances have shifted. Although the Eagles’ experiment with Reagor didn’t pan out, Jeudy’s situation with the Broncos is complex. Despite trade rumors, the Broncos have been reluctant to part with Jeudy, even exercising his 5th-year option last offseason.

However, with connections between the Eagles and Broncos, including shared personnel and recent deals, acquiring Jeudy could be feasible. Reuniting with former Alabama teammates Jalen Hurts and De’Vonta Smith adds further allure to the prospect.

Justin Simmons, Denver Broncos

Among potential trades, securing Justin Simmons from the Broncos appears particularly realistic. Over recent years, the Eagles and Broncos have engaged in several deals under the tenure of Broncos GM George Paton. Notable exchanges include players like Kary Vincent Jr. and Albert Okwuegbunam.

With Simmons entering the final year of his contract in 2024, valued at $14.5 million, and with ties to key figures in Philadelphia, including former Broncos defensive backs coach Christian Parker, a move to the Eagles seems plausible.

Parker’s rapport with Simmons, coupled with the Eagles’ need to bolster their secondary and the Broncos’ desire for additional draft picks, could pave the way for a mutually beneficial trade, possibly involving a 3rd-round pick.

In summary, Howie Roseman’s aggressive mindset and the Eagles’ championship ambitions set the stage for potential blockbuster trades in 2024. Acquiring talents like Jerry Jeudy and Justin Simmons could fortify the team’s roster and propel them closer to their goal of NFL supremacy.
