The “I believe in Amari Rodgers ” island has been a ghost town lately. Many people have already sailed away leaving me and a few faithful others championing the second year receiver. However, I too am sailing away from the island. The Packers clearly do not trust Amari Rodgers and he has shown nothing on special teams. With the emergence of rookies Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson, Amari Rodgers is no longer needed. Here are 3 potential trade partners for Amari Rodgers.

New York Giants

The New York Giants are the first potential trade partner for Amari Rodgers. The Giants have a huge need at receiver. Leading receiver Sterling Shepard tore his ACL a week ago. Kadarius Toney is often injured and Kenny Golladay looks like he has straight up quit on the team. Rookie Wan’Dale Robinson has also been dealing with injuries and it is unknown when he will be back. Trading Amari Rodgers to them would help give them a young receiver to develop and free up a roster spot for the Packers. It is an in conference trade but the Giants have so many other holes it does not seem like a threat.

New England Patriots

The team that the Packers just defeated could definitely use a wide receiver. The Patriots pass game is not great. Anytime the Patriots dropped back to pass I thought, “Oh thank goodness they are not running the ball.” They could use a slot receiver that has some potential. Bill Belichick has made a living on developing players and getting the most out of them. Wes Welker and Julian Edelman were Pro Bowl caliber receivers in the slot. Amari Rodgers is a great fit for New England. The Patriots also tend to not care as much about draft picks and the Packers could probably get a decent one back.

Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson is having an MVP season. He has improved drastically as a pocket passer. His receiving unit is in the bottom third of the league. Adding a young slot receiver with Jackson at the helm of the offense could be good for Baltimore. The Ravens are in a win now mode. They have the young quarterback on a rookie contract though not for much longer. They are going to need cheap talent and Amari Rodgers fits the bill. The Ravens would make a great trade partner for Amari Rodgers.

What can the Packers get for Amari Rodgers? Who knows but something is better than nothing. They clearly do not have a role for him and with Kylin Hill potentially coming off the PUP list, his role could vanish soon. The Packers have hit on late round picks in the past so even getting a Day 3 pick would be great. The Packers need to find trade partners for Amari Rodgers.
