48-year-old Terrell Owens scores touchdown in Fan Controlled Football

On March 31, news broke that Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens was making his return to professional football.

The 48-year-old Owens decided to come out of retirement, joining the Fan Controlled Football league.

Owens suited up the Zappers, the team former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel plays for, in his first official Fan Controlled Football league game on Saturday night.

It didn't take long for Owens to make an impact. More than a decade after playing in his final NFL game, Owens recorded a touchdown in a professional football game.

Owens scored on the final play of the Zappers' loss to the Wild Aces. With the Zappers trailing 20-6, Owens boxed out his defender and snatched the pass out of the air in vintage T.O. style. It was a big moment for Owens, even if the score came with the result already decided.

A third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 1996, Owens spent 15 seasons in the NFL, playing for the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

Owens was named First-Team All-Pro five times and voted to the Pro Bowl six times.

He sits third all time in receiving yards (15,934), fifth in total touchdowns (156) and eighth in receptions (1,078).

He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
