At least two San Francisco 49ers players—quarterback Brock Purdy and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir—have received performance-based bonuses from the NFL for their contributions during the 2023 season. Both ranked among the top 25 performance-based pay distributions.

Purdy earned $739,795, while Lenoir received $790,744.

Under the Performance-Based Pay program, a fund is created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation based on a comparison of playing time to salary. Players become eligible to receive a bonus distribution in any regular season in which they play at least one official down.

Basically, players with higher playtime percentages and lower salaries benefit most from the pool.

Purdy threw for a franchise-record 4,280 passing yards in his second NFL season while adding 31 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions. His 113.0 passer rating led the NFL.

In his third NFL season, Lenoir recorded a career-high 84 tackles, including one for a loss. He also hauled in a career-high three interceptions and had 10 passes defensed.

Below is a list of the top 25 performance-based pay distributions for 2023.
