49ers CB Ambry Thomas practices in full; LT Trent Williams still out

The San Francisco 49ers are three days away from taking on the Los Angeles Rams for the third and final time this season. They're not only looking to complete a series sweep and extend their win streak over Los Angeles to seven games, but they're vying for their first Super Bowl berth in three years.

San Francisco fans got good news on Wednesday when offensive superstars Deebo Samuel and George Kittle were not on the injury report. Some more positive signs were seen on Thursday's list, as cornerback Ambry Thomas was upgraded to a full participant and running back Elijah Mitchell went from no practice on Wednesday to a limited label on Thursday.

On the downside, left tackle Trent Williams is still sidelined with an ankle ailment.

A third-round rookie out of Michigan, Thomas played in 12 games during the 2021 campaign, earning five starts. He finished the regular season with 23 tackles, five passes defended and one interception, and added three tackles and one pass defended in the team's NFC wild-card round upset of the Dallas Cowboys, but was inactive in the divisional-round against the Green Bay Packers.

In his 11th NFL season and second with the Niners, Williams is coming off of a regular season where he earned his ninth consecutive Pro Bowl honor and first career All-Pro designation.

Despite battling injuries and being limited to 11 games, Mitchell led the San Francisco backfield in 2021 with 207 carries for 963 rushing yards, while contributing five scores on the ground as well, which ranked second only to Samuel. Mitchell posted 100 or more rushing yards in five regular season games and through the first two contests of the postseason, has racked up 149 yards and one score on the ground via 44 rushing attempts.
