According to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw has undergone a successful surgery to repair the torn Achilles he sustained during Super Bowl 58 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Greenlaw sustained the injury during the second quarter while running onto the field from the sideline. Following examination by the team's medical staff, he was carted off to the locker room.

Rapoport wrote, "He will make a full recovery."

This week, linebacker Fred Warner shared insights into Greenlaw's mental state in the aftermath of the injury and the team's Super Bowl loss.

"Obviously, he's down, but he has a good mindset about it, and he's just eager to get the surgery done so he can get right into rehab and get back to work," Warner said. "I have no doubt in my mind he'll come back better than he was. He's made of the right stuff, and, yeah, he'll be back."
