San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy already appears to be working very hard on improving himself this offseason.

In a recent photo, Purdy seems to look much more muscular than he did this past season, so evidently, he has been hitting the weight room.

Is it possible that Purdy gained that much muscle mass in just two-and-a-half months?

It could very well just be the way the photo was taken, or maybe Purdy really has managed to bulk up quite a bit since the 49ers’ Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in early February.

Purdy is coming off of a fantastic 2023 campaign in which he threw for 4,280 yards, 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 69.4 percent of his passes and posting a league-high passer rating of 113.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Iowa State, was selected by San Francisco with the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He began his rookie year as the Niners’ third quarterback on the depth chart, but was pressed into starting duty after season-ending injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo.

The rest is history.

Purdy was very impressive in his five starts in 2022 and led the 49ers all the way to the NFC Championship Game, where he suffered an elbow injury early in the game that would require surgery.

He one-upped himself this past season, finishing fourth in MVP voting.

We’ll see what Brock Purdy does for an encore in 2024.
