San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been limited in practice due to a calf injury, but he was a full participant in practice on Tuesday, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic.

Not surprisingly, McCaffrey should be ready to go for when the 49ers take on the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this Saturday.

McCaffrey did not play in San Francisco’s regular-season finale due to the balky calf, which he initially injured during his team’s Week 17 win over the Washington Commanders.

In 16 games this season, McCaffrey led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards while punching in 14 touchdowns on the ground. He averaged a robust 5.4 yards per carry and also hauled in 67 receptions for 564 yards and seven scores. He earned a Pro Bowl selection as well as notching First-Team All-Pro honors for his efforts.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Stanford, was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers with the eighth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Panthers, making one trip to the Pro Bowl and earning one First-Team All-Pro selection during his time with the club. His best season came in 2019, when he racked up 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns as a rusher while registering 4.8 yards per attempt. In addition, he caught 116 passes for 1,005 yards and four scores.

Carolina proceeded to trade McCaffrey midway through last season. In 16 contests between the Panthers and the Niners, the Castle Rock, Co. native totaled 1,139 yards and eight touchdowns. He also snared 85 balls for 741 yards while reaching the end zone five times as a receiver.

Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers went 12-5 this season and earned a first-round bye.
