According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers are signing former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Clelin Ferrell to a one-year deal.

The 49ers lost two defensive ends, Samson Ebukam and Charles Omenihu, in free agency. Ebukam is signing with the Indianapolis Colts, while Omenihu is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders drafted Ferrell (6-4, 265) out of Clemson with the No. 4 overall pick in 2019. The selection came two picks after the 49ers drafted defensive end Nick Bosa. Ferrell registered 26 tackles, three tackles for a loss, eight quarterback hits, two sacks, and two passes defensed through 16 game appearances (four starts) with the Raiders last season, per Pro Football Reference.

Ferrell, 25, has recorded 105 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, 32 quarterback hits, 10 sacks, 11 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in 58 game appearances (30 starts) through his four NFL seasons.

The defender earned his best Pro Football Focus grades in 2020 with career-high overall (76.1), run defense (76.6), and pass-rushing (70.0) grades.
