49ers TE George Kittle could play vs. Jets even if he doesn't practice

San Francisco 49ers All-Pro tight end George Kittle isn't letting a little thing like a knee sprain keep him off the field versus the New York Jets on Sunday.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that the 26-year-old likely won't practice this week because of the setback he suffered during Sunday's season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Nevertheless, Kittle expects to play against Gang Green unless he isn't cleared this weekend.

While Kittle remained in the lineup through the second half of the Arizona game, he wasn't targeted once by San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo over the contest's final two quarters, per Adam Maya of NFL.com.

Kittle finished the afternoon with four catches and 44 receiving yards.

The Jets fell to division foes the Buffalo Bills 27-17 in Week 1, as Buffalo's Josh Allen threw for over 300 passing yards to begin his campaign.
