The Eagles played their first preseason game last night against the New York Jets and it was full of excitement. The fans came out to see this newly constructed Eagles roster in hopes that it would give them a glimpse of what to expect this season.

All in all, it was a great showing that offered more than just a glimpse but a massive tease of how this Eagles’ season could look. Here are some players that stood out in the Friday night matchup;

WR Zach Pascal

Zach was one of the Eagles’ better signings that truly fell under the radar after the team traded for AJ Brown. Pascal has a good history with Nick Sirianni which led to his arrival in Philly. While many await the explosive play from DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown, it will be the consistency that Pascal brings that could truly help this offense.

Pascal led all of the Eagles’ receivers on Friday night as he tallied 2 receptions for 41 yards. One of the receptions came from a long 32-yard pass from Gardner Minshew.

LB Kyzir White

What a homecoming it was for Kyzir White. After playing in San Diego at the start of his career, White took a chance and came back home to play for the Eagles. It sure seems like it was a match made in heaven because the Eagles needed a playmaker at the linebacker position and White showed them that he can be that guy.

Kyzir White kicked off the homecoming party with a 27-yard interception on a pass thrown by Zach Wilson. If Friday night was any indication of how the linebacker group will look then the Eagles are in good hands with White and the guy below.

LB Nakobe Dean

Nakobe Dean is an Eagle. Say it with me once again, Nakobe Dean is a part of the Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, it’s still very hard to believe but the fact of the matter is that the Eagles were able to steal Dean in the third round and pair him with Jordan Davis. We saw firsthand what the pairing can do as Davis moved the blockers and allowed Nakobe to stop a running play. Dean finished the night off with four solo tackles and an assist.

C Cam Jurgens

Cam was impressive. Very impressive. He started with the first team and played a bit with the second team and I left very impressed with the 2nd round pick. Cam truly held his own against the Jets’ defensive line and there weren’t any miscues between him and Jalen Hurts. As years passed all of Kelce’s replacements have had too many miscues so it was great to see the QB and Jurgens on the same page.

QB Jalen Hurts

Of course, we couldn’t leave out Hurts and his perfect night. Honestly, we may have seen more of him if it wasn’t for Jets linebacker Quincy Williams hitting Jalen Hurts when he was already out of bounds. The Eagles were able to turn a lost third down into a touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert because of it. Hurts went 6 for 6 on the night with 1 touchdown pass.

For the most part, Hurts looked very on. He was patient behind his line but Sua Opeta didn’t allow the QB to get too comfortable as he let up a few times. It will be interesting to see if we get to see Hurts behind a fully healthy offensive line before the season starts. Other than that, it was an impressive showing for the Eagles QB.
