Could Aaron Donald cap his career with a Super Bowl victory? Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Donald says 'strong possibility' he retires if Rams win Super Bowl LVI

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, seven-time All-Pro, and eight-time Pro Bowler, but he's never won a Super Bowl. If he checks off that accomplishment Sunday with a win against the Cincinnati Bengals, Donald says he could call it a career.

“He’s big on legacy,” NBC analyst Rodney Harrison said during a pregame show Sunday. “He doesn’t want to be known as a defender that accomplished so many individual things and never won a Super Bowl. But he also told me this: If he wins a Super Bowl, there’s a strong possibility he could walk away from the game and retire.”

Donald, 30, was the Rams' first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he's already accomplished more than enough in eight seasons to be a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

In addition to Donald potentially walking away with a ring, there are also reports that Rams head coach Sean McVay is pondering an early retirement from the job to pursue a career in television. While McVay told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Saturday that he's "committed to this team and coaching," the New York Post reported Sunday that ESPN would pursue the coach if he chooses to leave the Rams.
