According to Aaron Rodgers, perhaps even more than originally expected is on the line for the Green Bay Packers in week 18.

The Packers are in the midst of putting the final touches on preparations for their regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions, a game in which both teams need a win to earn their way into the playoffs

Ahead of the Packers’ clash with the Lions on Sunday night, beat writer, Ryan Wood asked Aaron Rodgers the age-old question about Rodgers’ future, noting even if Green Bay defeats Detroit and earns their way into the playoffs, they’ll be the NFC’s 7th-seed, meaning they’ll be playing all of their playoff games on the road.

“Asked Aaron Rodgers if he has clarity on this potentially being his last game at Lambeau. He acknowledged possibility will be on his mind, but reiterated decision will come in the offseason,” Wood tweeted pertaining to his interaction with Rodgers.

If Sunday is truly it for Rodgers, at least in Green Bay, it’ll end a 17-year run with the Packers, where the California native led the team to a Super Bowl in 2011. Rodgers ranks second in yards all-time for the franchise (58,850), only trailing Hall of Famer, Brett Favre (61,655), while already securing the top spot for the club in touchdown passes (474).

Rodgers and the Packers are set to host the Detroit Lions this Sunday night (Jan. 8) at Lambeau Field with both teams needing a win to secure the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC.
