Aaron Rodgers at the forefront of Packers trading for Randall Cobb
After a drama-filled offseason in which the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers never seemed to be on the same page, it looks like the NFL franchise is finally giving the star quarterback what he wants.
The team announced Wednesday a trade that brings wide receiver and former Packer Randall Cobb back to Green Bay. Multiple sources have reported the Cobb acquisition was at Rodgers' behest.
Cobb's previous eight-year stint with Green Bay was a successful one. He recorded 470 receptions for 5,524 yards and 41 touchdowns, much of which can be contributed to his connection with Rodgers. He also made his lone Pro Bowl as a Packer in 2014.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst gave Rodgers the credit for putting the trade in motion.
This appears to be just the latest move made by the Packers in an effort to make Rodgers happy. Although, the reigning MVP isn't shedding much light on how his tumultuous relationship with Gutekunst is evolving.
