Aaron Rodgers has interesting reason for lack of communication with Packers

It turns out that Aaron Rodgers is a FaceTime guy, and fans can blame his cell phone service for the drawn-out waiting game that finally led to his trade to the New York Jets.

Rumors involving Rodgers' possible move from the Green Bay Packers to the Jets began swirling early over the winter. The chatter increased significantly when New York hired former Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett (Rodgers' former offensive coordinator in Green Bay) in January to be their offensive coordinator.

During his introductory press conference with the Jets on Wednesday, the four-time MVP mentioned Hackett specifically as a "big reason" he was now with Gang Green.

Nearly three months after the Hackett hire, Rodgers was finally, officially installed as the next starting quarterback for the historic franchise that hasn't won a Super Bowl since 1968 and hasn't been to the playoffs since the 2010 campaign.

The 10-time Pro Bowler walks into an offense in New York that is, on paper, eons better than what he dealt with during his final season in Green Bay. Not only do the Jets feature dynamic running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson (the 2022 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year), but they added one of Rodgers' favorite targets from his many years with the Packers in Allen Lazard in the offseason as well.

The future Hall-of-Fame quarterback is coming off of a down season by his standard, but even at 39 years old, expectations are high for Rodgers and the Jets in 2023.
