Aaron Rodgers has 'zero bitterness' about Packers drafting Jordan Love

It's easy to forget now but less than a year ago, many of us wondered if Aaron Rodgers' days in Green Bay were over after the Packers traded up to take quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 Draft. It felt like the team had drafted Rodgers' replacement and the veteran quarterback even acknowledged the possibility of his career continuing elsewhere.

Now, all of that feels like ages ago, as Rodgers is likely going to win his third MVP as the top-seeded Packers take on the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round of the playoffs. Given the success that Rodgers has had this year, it would be understandable if he held some grudge against the Packers for taking a quarterback in the first round with him still on the team. But Rodgers told NFL.com that there is no tension between him and Green Bay.

"I'm not worried about it, and I harbor actually zero bitterness about it," Rodgers said. "And that's just allowed me to have a really calm and genuine peace about the situation."

Of course, it's easy to not have any bitter feelings when you have played as well as Rodgers has. The 37-year-old had perhaps the best season of his Hall of Fame career, throwing 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions while leading the Packers to a 13-3 record for the second year in a row. And even if Love is the quarterback of the future in Green Bay, the idea of him starting anytime soon is ridiculous, given how impressive Rodgers has been this season.
