Aaron Rodgers: It's 'championship or disappointment' for Packers in 2021

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently admitted the importance of winning in 2021.

The 2021 campaign could be Rodgers' last in Green Bay, and he said he and his teammates are prepared to put it all on the line this season in pursuit of a championship.

"I think we all know what's at stake," Rodgers said, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "I talked about that a little bit the other day about perspective and how important that perspective is to focus on this season and enjoy the most out of this season, because there are a lot of unknowns."

Rodgers added that it's not just about his own situation but also about several other players who will become free agents in 2022.

"They jumped through some hoops to get under the cap this year," Rodgers said. "Obviously, the cap is expected to go back up next year but you never know. So we're just going to enjoy this season. It's Title Town. It's championship or disappointment."

Rodgers recently told Peter King for his "Football Morning in America" column that he thought 2020 was going to be his final season in Green Bay.

The 37-year-old added he loves his teammates and the coaching staff, but his feelings toward the front office, specifically general manager Brian Gutekunst, aren't the same.

Rodgers would not commit to a future with the Packers beyond the 2021 season. If something doesn't change, he could very well be playing elsewhere in 2022.

The Denver Broncos expressed interest in the reigning MVP this summer and could revisit the possibility of adding him next year if Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock disappoint.
