Aaron Rodgers likely to miss practices ahead of Rams game due to toe issue?

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Monday that star quarterback Aaron Rodgers could miss multiple midweek practice sessions because of the lingering unspecified injury to his pinkie toe but was on track to start when the 8-3 Packers host the 7-3 Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday.

LaFleur offered an update on the situation and explained Rodgers could follow last week's schedule and skip practices on Wednesday and Thursday before returning to on-the-field work Friday.

"I would say it’ll be similar to last week," LaFleur said of Rodgers' workload on Wednesday, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "Certainly we’ll handle it day by day, but a lot of it’s just gonna be on how he’s feeling."

The reigning NFL Most Valuable Player may or may not be recovering from a "COVID toe" condition coming off his positive test for the virus as an unvaccinated player, but the 37-year-old admitted during Tuesday's appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" he expects to be dealing with the setback "at least the next few weeks." Fortunately for Rodgers and company, the Packers are on their bye after Sunday's game.

Rodgers played through discomfort against the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday and completed 23-of-33 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort.
