Aaron Rodgers on Micah Parsons: 'He's definitely a one-of-one in this league

Dallas Cowboys' star pass rusher Micah Parsons wants to meet up with Aaron Rodgers after this weekend's game to snag a jersey from the future Hall of Famer. For his part, Rodgers couldn't help but gush about the superstar second-year player down in Dallas.

For two players who are about to meet on the gridiron at the highest level of competition, these two sure seem chummy, don't they?

Previewing this weekend's clash between the 6-2 Cowboys and the 3-6 Green Bay Packers, Rodgers sent some high praise Parsons' way.

"He's got a lot of things you just can't coach. The effort he plays with is incredible. ... He's definitely a one-of-one in this league," Rodgers said when speaking to Dallas media, per Cowboys beat writer Jon Machota. "I don't know if there's anybody doing as many things as they're asking him to do."

By both the eye test and the numbers, Rodgers is right. Parsons sure is a special player for the Cowboys. He won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award last season after snagging 13 sacks, 17 knockdowns, and 84 tackles.

So far this season, Parsons is amongst the NFL's leaders in sacks with eight through eight games. Only Nick Bosa (8.5), Za'Darius Smith (8.5), Justin Houston (8.5) and Matthew Judon (11.5) have more. That's elite company.

While Rodgers is right that Parsons is elite, it is funny to hear him hyping up an opponent's pass rusher rather than his own offensive line — which has been largely abysmal for him in this terrible Packers season.

The good news for Rodgers (if you look at it this way, at least) is that he should have a chance to meet Parsons quite a bit this Sunday when the Cowboys and Packers square off and Lambeau Field.

Unless Green Bay pulls something out of its hat, this could end up being a bloodbath in favor of Dallas.
