Aaron Rodgers passes Brett Favre as Packers' all-time passing TDs leader
A first-quarter touchdown against the Cleveland Browns was the 443rd of Aaron Rodgers' career and finally made him the Green Bay Packers' all-time passing touchdowns leader.
Rodgers, 38, tied Brett Favre for the franchise record a week ago when he threw three touchdown passes in a 31-30 win against the Baltimore Ravens. The record-breaker was a short pass to Allen Lazard, who dove for the right pylon for an 11-yard touchdown.
Rodgers was drafted in 2005 and spent the first three seasons of his NFL career as the backup to Favre. He inherited the starting job when Favre retired in 2008, but Favre later came back for stints with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings.
After the record was broken, a video of Favre congratulating Rodgers was placed at Lambeau Field. In the video, Favre asked Rodgers to go win another Super Bowl with the Packers.
Rodgers is fifth in NFL history in passing touchdowns and Favre is fourth, thanks to the 66 additional scores he threw with the Jets and Vikings.
