Aaron Rodgers return odds: Comeback Player of the Year?

NFL fans, regardless of which team they follow, no doubt first heard the rumors last week that Aaron Rodgers thinks he's returning to the gridiron at some point after Thanksgiving. They probably also heard that he went on "The Pat McAfee Show" this week and said he expects to be back despite not having a set timetable to return.

Yardbarker discussed following Week 1 that Rodgers had tremendous value for the New York Jets at sportsbooks prior to what has been considered a season-ending Achilles injury. While the team's value has dropped, rumors of his return will no doubt have oddsmakers singing a different tune.

Just how have rumors of Rodgers' potential return impacted sportsbooks so far?

In case you missed it last week, Action Network reported that BetMGM has started posting odds for Rodgers to be Comeback Player of the Year if he returns. He opened up as a  28-1 long shot last week, but those odds appear to be shortening ever-so-slightly as he is now listed at 25-1.

DraftKings has also jumped on the Aaron Rodgers Comeback train and has him listed at 20-1 to win the end-of-the-season award.

As for when he will actually take the field again? There are odds for that, too. Bookies.com posted last week that there are 3-1 odds (25% probability) that Rodgers returns in Week 16 when the Jets host the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve.

And as for the Jets themselves? Rodgers told McAfee he still thinks they "will be in it" — which is presumably referring to a playoff run — but oddsmakers don't appear to agree with him just yet. BetMGM has New York listed as a 66-1 long shot to top the AFC and a 120-1 long shot of winning the Super Bowl.

Of course, those odds could change if the Jets string a couple of wins together and Rodgers returns like he says he will, so we will just have to wait and see what the Jets do.

Those same Jets, by the way, are seven-point underdogs on the road against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11.
