Aaron Rodgers took subtle dig at Pat McAfee: 'You’re really becoming a media personality there'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been waxing poetic on "The Pat McAfee Show" for a few seasons now and part of the magic of his Tuesday afternoon segments is the unscripted nature of the conversations.

The two, plus Rodgers' former teammate A.J. Hawk, have talked about everything from football to COVID-19 vaccinations. Heck, they apparently even talked about life after death on the latest show.

That's why people tune in to both McAfee and Rodgers. Nothing is off limits and there's no script, supposedly.

Speaking of the latest show and the "no script" vibe, though, there was an interesting moment between Rodgers and McAfee in the latest edition of "Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays." The death talk got the headlines, but there also may have been a subtle jab from the quarterback in McAfee's direction regarding his line of questioning.

Is McAfee, who became famous for his off-the-cuff interviews and "don't give a darn" attitude, perhaps getting a bit "buttoned up" now that he's also a prominent ESPN personality? Remember, McAfee's personal show is widely popular but he also made major news early this year when he joined ESPN's "College GameDay," which is a much more polished and produced affair.

“You’re really becoming a media personality there, Pat,” Rodgers sarcastically joked after a long, rambling question asked by McAfee (h/t Awful Announcing). “All that work on 'GameDay' is paying off for you.”

Rodgers had initially joked that McAfee had asked him multiple different questions.

"I’m trying to figure out which one I want to attack first," he said with a smile.

So yes, McAfee is clearly a big deal in the sports media scene, but at least according to Rodgers, it doesn't seem as if the oft-sleeveless host is getting more and more polished the more he appears on television.

And frankly, for fans of McAfee and his brand, that's not a bad thing.
