Adam Gase won't say if Jets misused Le'Veon Bell: 'It's irrelevant at this point'

The Jets released Le'Veon Bell on Tuesday after the All-Pro running back revealed he was disgruntled with his situation in New York.

On Wednesday, Jets head coach Adam Gase avoided questions about his usage of Bell, who missed three weeks due to injury. Bell signed with the Jets as a free agent in March 2019, but appeared in just 17 games for the team.

Gase never approved of the Bell signing from the start. The two sides never got along and Bell was frustrated with his lack of involvement in the offense -- Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals was his breaking point.

Bell had just 13 carries for 60 yards and one reception for seven yards in the 30-10 loss. During Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, he had six carries for 14 yards and two receptions for 32 yards.

Since signing a four-year, $52.5 million deal with New York last year, Bell has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry, which ranks 51st out of 53 qualifying runners in the NFL during that span.
