Adrian Peterson had a forgettable 2020 season with the Detroit Lions and entered 2021 without a team.

Then the Tennessee Titans came calling and Peterson joined them following Derrick Henry‘s injury.

Unfortunately for him, the Titans decided to move on from the veteran after only three games.

Peterson made it clear he was not ready to retire and he is now reportedly seeking another chance with a troubled NFC team.

Peterson is now potentially joining the Seattle Seahawks, which would be an interesting fit for several reasons.

An Odd Fit In Seattle

It is fair to start by saying that Peterson just wants a job right now.

Getting picky would not be a good idea after seeing how long he had to wait just to sign with the Titans this year.

But Peterson joining the 3-8 Seahawks does seem like a weird match.

The team basically needs to win out to make the postseason and that looks like a tough task now that Russell Wilson is 0-3 since returning from injury.

The running game has been abysmal for the Seahawks this season.

Alex Collins leads the way with 395 yards and the injured Chris Carson is next with 232.

Adding Peterson would have been a wise move earlier in the year.

Now, it is questionable to add a veteran who likely won’t be around next season anyway.

The Seahawks are clearly operating as if they still have a chance to make the postseason.

That is noble and may be the only option if everyone feels their job is at stake.

For Peterson, he could put up some solid numbers and try to land a contract early in the 2022 offseason.

If he struggles, however, it may be tough to find any deal after his failed stint with the Titans already this season.
