Adrian Peterson still hoping for NFL job with a contender

Even though Adrian Peterson has spent most of his time recently preparing for a celebrity boxing match against Le'Veon Bell, the former All-Pro running back is still hoping for at least one more shot in the NFL.

He also has a few potential contenders on his wish list with the hopes of chasing a Super Bowl ring.

Peterson told TMZ on Wednesday the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers are teams that would definitely appear on his list, while adding that a championship would be his ultimate goal.

"There's a couple teams out there," Peterson told TMZ. "Buffalo Bills would be a good team. The Rams, I don't know what need they'll have at running back. San Fran would be a good look."

Peterson, 37, spent the 2021 season split between Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. He appeared in only four games, gaining 98 yards on 38 carries. 

At his peak he was the best running back in the NFL and put together a Hall of Fame resume that included three rushing titles as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. 

He is currently fifth on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 14,918 yards, trailing only Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Frank Gore and Barry Sanders.

Given his age and how unproductive he looked a year ago it is extremely doubtful that any team, especially a contender, would be willing to bring him in. But it only takes one team to make it happen. 

In the meantime he is scheduled to step into the ring with Bell at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
