After agreeing to new contract, LB Matt Milano praises Bills' culture

The Buffalo Bills aren't just working to keep the figurative band together coming off an AFC Championship Game appearance. They're building something that's appealing to those associated with the club.

Reports emerged on Thursday that starting linebacker Matt Milano agreed to a four-year extension worth $44 million with $24 million in guaranteed money to remain with the Bills. Right tackle Daryl Williams and safety Micah Hyde are among others who recently committed their playing futures to Buffalo.

"I just told my agent, 'I love Buffalo. I want to be in Buffalo. I love what they got going on there and see if we can make something happen,'" Milano told reporters via a Zoom call, per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official website. "I think that's what we did. It was a fair deal kind of for both sides.

"The culture that's brewing there right now is unreal. We got a little taste of it last year and the past four years. It's something that I want to continue on for the next four years."

The 26-year-old reportedly could've earned up to $2 million more per year had he elected to enter free agency next week. He recorded 45 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception in 10 games last season.

Previously, Hyde raised eyes when he said that players who hadn't signed with the Bills were "probably sitting on their trash team or sitting on the couch somewhere else because they didn’t come to Buffalo." He's also suggested free agents now want to play alongside Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
