All-Pro safety Harrison Smith signs four-year, $64 million extension with Vikings
All-Pro safety Harrison Smith has signed a four-year, $64 million extension with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Sunday.
The deal includes $26.38 million guaranteed, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 32-year-old said earlier this summer that he wanted to remain with the Vikings in the future. His contract all but assures that will happen.
Smith is now the second-highest-paid safety in the NFL behind Seattle Seahawks star Jamal Adams, who recently agreed to a four-year, $70 million deal.
Smith led the Vikings in both interceptions (five) and pass deflections (10) last season to go along with 89 total tackles. Drafted 29th overall in 2012, Smith is a five-time Pro Bowler and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2017.
