Amon-Ra St. Brown called Jameson Williams TD that sparked Lions rally

Trailing 26-14 with 4:15 left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions called Jameson Williams’ number.

On a first-and-10 from just outside the red zone, Jared Goff spotted Williams as he got behind two Bears defensive backs and hit him in stride for a 32-yard touchdown that pulled Detroit to within 26-21.

After the game, Williams admitted that fellow receiver Amon-Ra. St Brown actually told Williams he was going to score moments before the play.

“I ain’t even going to lie to y’all, before the play St. Brown, he told me, ‘Go get it; it’s coming,’” Williams said, via the Lions X account. “I already knew. We just needed something to…get us back in the game, and it just took us there. Ever since from [that] play, we just took off man.”

St. Brown led all Lions WRs with eight grabs for 77 yards and a touchdown, and Williams finished with two receptions for 44 yards and the score. His second touchdown of the season was the start of 16 unanswered points rattled off by the Lions in the span of four minutes.

Detroit’s defense forced a three-and-out on Chicago’s next possession, which took just 26 seconds off the clock. The Lions marched 73 yards down the field on 11 plays during their next drive, which was capped off by a David Montgomery one-yard touchdown run that put them ahead for good.

The Lions added a safety for good measure on the Bears' next drive when they sacked Justin Fields at the Chicago 15 and he fumbled the ball out of bounds in the end zone.
