Analyst predicts A.J. Brown will have 'Terrell Owens-level' debut for Eagles

Star wide receiver A.J. Brown joined the Philadelphia Eagles from the Tennessee Titans via a trade executed on the first night of this year's NFL Draft and has since publicly spoken about how special it will be to play alongside "best friend" and quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The time for talk is just about over, and one media personality is expecting Brown to announce his presence with his new club in a big way during Sunday's regular-season opener at the Detroit Lions.

For a piece published by the NFL's website on Friday, former quarterback and current analyst David Carr named-dropped Brown in his "bold prediction" for Week 1.

"A.J. Brown has a Terrell Owens-level debut with the Philadelphia Eagles," Carr said.

Diehard Eagles supporters probably remember that Owens found the end zone three times in his official debut with the franchise against the division-rival New York Giants in September 2004:

Owens finished that outing with eight catches for 68 yards and his three scores. Carr made it clear he thinks Brown will eclipse those numbers at Detroit's Ford Field.

"On Sunday against the Lions, Brown goes for 200 yards and three touchdowns. Yeah, this trade was worth it," Carr added.

It's safe to assume Eagles fans would happily accept that kind of production from the 25-year-old as long as Philadelphia begins Monday at 1-0.
