Analyst rips Cowboys offense after embarrassing loss to 49ers

After an embarrassing 42-10 blowout to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, many lost faith in the Dallas Cowboys offense.

"I think the first play of the game was a dropback go route. That's a bad football play," ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky said Monday on "Get Up." "They looked slow. They looked tired. Dak Prescott looked timid. There was very little creativity from their offense against a very good San Francisco defense."

From the onset, it was apparent Dallas was overmatched. Against the 49ers, the Cowboys only mustered 197 yards on 49 plays, went 4-of-11 on third down and made no trips to the red zone.

Some believe that the atrocious showing falls on Prescott. The Cowboys quarterback threw a season-high three interceptions and posted a below-average 46.4 QBR, his second-lowest mark this season.

"That's the worst performance of Dak Prescott's tenure as a Dallas Cowboy," Orlovsky said.

While Prescott struggled, one player shouldn't shoulder all the blame when the offensive performance is this poor. Running back Tony Pollard rushed for 29 yards on eight carries and lost a fumble. Additionally, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb only had four receptions for 49 yards.

"It was clearly humbling, but it is one game," Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy said following the loss, via The Athletic's Jon Machota. "Starts with me, I didn't do a good job tonight. It clearly just shows where we are as a team. We're 3-2. We gotta lot of work to do."
