The Houston Texans are finding themselves with some potential off-season issues as they get closer to free agency. They just had a really good season, but after that final whistle blew in Baltimore, it became apparent that some major work would have to be done in the offseason. That work would be free agency, as the Texans now have 29 guys entering free agency.

That's a lot to replace. Not every guy will come back, and half of them may not, but what's important is that the Texans are making the right decisions when it comes to those free agents. One of the guys who could be on the outside looking in is Jonathan Greenard, who just had a fantastic season.

He is an edge rusher who finished with 12.5 sacks this last year. He is a guy who plays a position at a high level, which will be in high demand this offseason. Other teams may drive his market value up, and we could see him in a different uniform come the 2024 season.

Greenard's current market value for 2024 free agency is $13 million per year, according to Spotrac. However. that doesn't necessarily mean that is what the Texans could pay and get for him, as not all teams will value him the same way.

If there is no way the Texans will bring him back, there have been theories that the Texans should trade for one of the more decorated pass rushers available - Khalil Mack.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Los Angeles Chargers could trade Mack, as there are plenty of suitors. And, for all we know, the Texans may be one of those teams. However, I don't think they should make a trade for him, and here is why:

Mack has one year left on his deal, and you would ultimately be paying $17 million for a one-year rental that's 33 years old. Sure, he had 17 sacks last year, and as amazing as that was, he had six in one game. You take that game out; he has 11, less than Greenard.

While a lot of fans may want a splashy move like this one, I'm out on it. However, who's to say he wouldn't prove me wrong and have an amazing year in 2024?
