Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck addressed the media on Wednesday, one of his first public appearances after his surprise retirement from the NFL in 2019.
At the time of his retirement, the public was certainly shocked to hear the news, and little information was made available.

One of these details included Luck’s comments regarding the timing of his retirement.
A Surprising Retirement Left The Colts Scrambling
Luck announced that he was retiring just two weeks before the 2019 NFL season.
The Colts were planning on Luck being their starting quarterback but had to turn to the services of Jacoby Brissett.
Brissett led the Colts to a 7-9 record during that season, and ultimately missed the playoffs.
Since Luck’s retirement, the Colts have only made one playoff appearance, occurring in 2020, where they ended up losing in the Wild Card round to the Buffalo Bills.
Some may call it a post-Luck curse that’s been placed on the Colts, as they have had a different starting quarterback for the last four seasons.
Their current quarterback, Matt Ryan, holds a 4-8-1 record this season.
Ryan is owed nearly $30 million dollars for the 2023 season, which was part of his initial contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
Whether they like the play of Ryan or not, the Colts will be stuck with him at quarterback for one final season.
