Following a three-year hiatus, if you could even call being the defensive coordinator for America’s Team a hiatus, former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is back in the driver’s seat.

He’s replaced Ron Rivera in Washington and is being tasked with leading the Commanders into this next era. With the No. 2 overall pick, Quinn and Adam Peters are set to acquire one of Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye to be the future at the quarterback position.

Quinn is leaning on his past relationships to build the roster out in anticipation of Daniels or Maye too. Dorance Armstrong came over from Dallas, and a couple of old friends did the same.

Dante Fowler, who signed with the Falcons before the 2020 season, followed Quinn from Atlanta to Dallas and Dallas to Washington. Now, Olamide Zaccheaus is joining the Commanders, according to Tom Pelissero.

Zaccheaus has really carved out a nice little career from being an undrafted free agent. He spent his first four seasons in Atlanta, two of which were with Dan Quinn.

Zaccheaus steadily earned a bigger role each year with the Falcons, culminating in a 2022 campaign where he hauled in 40 receptions for 533 yards and three touchdowns.

He ended up signing with the Eagles last offseason but only hauled in 10 receptions behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Now, he’ll be in a similar role in Washington behind Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense.

There are a lot of familiar Falcons faces on this new Commander’s team.
