Another Pro Bowl RB joins AFC East

After spending just over two months on the free agent market, four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook is signing with the New York Jets, per NFL insider Adam Schefter. Cook (whose recent visit to Jets training camp ignited the rumors he'd sign with New York), will join the team on a one-year contract worth up to $8.5 million.

He's yet another exciting addition to an overhauled offense.

They traded for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and he brought along fellow-Packers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb from Green Bay. They also have a new offensive coordinator in Nathaniel Hackett, who worked with Rodgers for three years before spending (most) of last season as the head man for the Denver Broncos.

Not only do they have shiny new pieces to show off, but there are also some good returners from last year's team, including both the Offensive (Garrett Wilson) and Defensive (Sauce Gardner) Rookies of the Year.

All the pieces are in place for the New York Jets to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2010, but do they have what it takes for a Super Bowl in the stacked AFC? So much depends on the quarterback play, and just in the East Rodgers and the Jets will have to contend with the likes of Josh Allen and a hopefully-healthy Tua Tagovailoa.

They'll also have to battle in the standings with teams led by Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow, with the Chiefs and Chargers both on the Jets schedule.

Fans will expect many wins and a playoff berth in the first season of the Aaron Rodgers era and rightly so.

But don't be surprised if a difficult early schedule for a team still building familiarity and an incredibly deep conference combine for yet another disappointing season for Gang Green.
