Anthony Richards, Colts QB - ? Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is a busy person. Not only is he rehabbing from shoulder surgery that ended his rookie season early and trying to make sure he’s as prepared as possible for 2024, but he’s also helping motorists in need.

In a moment that’s likely to help win some fans, recently, Anthony Richardson was spotted lending a hand to a motorist who he did not know that was stranded on the side of an Indianapolis highway.

More specifically, the driver was on Interstate 65 in Indianapolis, where he was stuck after blowing out a tire. When the young Colts quarterback spotted the driver, he pulled over to the side of the road and offered a helpful hand.

Fox59 reporter Eric Graves shared the story, including photos of the incident, on social media.

“Colts QB Anthony Richardson helped this fan stranded on the side of the highway the other day,” Graves wrote. “Parker Suddeth says he had to pullover on the side of I-65 because of a tire blowout and AR stopped to help out.”

The driver also took to Instagram where he wrote about the experience with Anthony Richardson.

“Zoe and I had a tire blowout on I-65 and the only man who had the decency to help us was Anthony,” the driver wrote. “HUGE thank you to this guy and Carl from the emergency transportation department for helping us out. I guess I’m a Colts fan now.”

Anthony Richardson was the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, with the clear expectation being that he’d become the team’s future franchise quarterback. However, injuries significantly shortened his promising rookie season.

In his rookie campaign, Richardson played in and started four games. During that short time, he completed 59.5% of his passes for 577 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed for an additional 136 yards and four touchdowns. Indianapolis was 2-2 during his four starts for the Colts. That came after a career at Florida where he was known for his dual-threat abilities and his ability to create big plays.

As of now, it looks like Richardson is on track to make a recovery from that injury. He even threw last month for the first time since his surgery.

At 21 years old, Anthony Richardson has a long career ahead of him if he’s able to stay healthy. Throughout that career, he’s earned a new fan in the motorist he helped and will likely have further endeared himself to plenty more people who were already fans of his.
