The Falcons may have a kicker problem, which is new for this franchise. For the longest time, Matt Bryant was the definition of consistent, and it seemed Atlanta found an immediate replacement in Younghoe Koo.

However, a shaky start to the 2023 season has prompted the Falcons to work out Koo’s potential replacement. Free agent kicker Tristan Vizcaino is in Atlanta to work out today, According to Black Label Sports Group.

Koo missed a pair of extra points in the preseason, another in the regular season, and a 47-yarder against the Lions on Sunday. He made 94.9% of his field goal attempts in 2020 and 93.1% in 2021, but that number dipped to 86.5% last year.

For the Falcons, Vizcaino has been a guy that comes off the street to fill in for injuries mostly. His worst season came with the Chargers when he missed five extra points in 2021. He’s spent time with the 49ers, Chargers, Cardinals, and Patriots. Most recently, Vizcaino competed with Brandon Aubrey for the Cowboys but was ultimately let go.

To me, this is nothing more than getting a file on a player for a potential deal in the future. Younghoe Koo hasn’t had a great start to the season, but he did nail a 48-yard field goal. Sometimes, kicking in the NFL can be volatile, so Falcons fans shouldn’t panic.
