With two new additions today, the Arizona Cardinals now have a total of 19 players currently on the injured reserve list. This moves them up to third in the league, only behind the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans, who are both tied with 23.

S Chris Banjo and DL Jonathan Ledbetter were the latest players to fall onto the list, as the Cardinals announced today ahead of their matchup this Sunday against the 49ers. The move clears the way for more roster spots, which will be critical for their season finale.

Chris Banjo suffered a concussion during last week’s game versus the Falcons; he was then placed on the NFL concussion protocol and did not participate in practice all week. Banjo played a significant role on special teams but has not seen much time at safety.

Jonathan Ledbetter also left Sunday’s game early as he suffered a knee injury after recording three tackles. Ledbetter has begun to play a more consistent role on the defensive side because of the injuries that Arizona has suffered. He has amassed 13 tackles over the past 3 weeks, matching his career numbers.

Stay tuned for more updates on who the Cardinals bring up to cover the two empty roster slots.
