TEMPE -- The Arizona Cardinals have announced the following roster moves:

"The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed running back Stevie Scott, released punter Matt Haack and waived/injured offensive lineman Lachavious Simmons.

"Scott (6-2, 231) is back with the Cardinals after originally signing with the team on August 10. He played in the USFL with the Michigan Panthers where he had 78 carries for 295 yards and one touchdown. Scott originally entered the NFL with New Orleans in 2021 as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Indiana and spent parts of the past two years with the Denver Broncos. Scott will wear jersey #49."

Haack was not spotted at the team's practice today, as Nolan Cooney appears to have won the team's starting punter job to replace Andy Lee from last season.

The Cardinals signed Scott after Marlon Mack went down due to injury but released him just a few days later. Scott joins a running back room with James Conner, Keaontay Ingram and Corey Clement among others.

Arizona will be in Minnesota for a handful of joint practices with the Vikings before playing their preseason finale on Saturday, which will begin at 10:00 AM Arizona time.
