The Atlanta Falcons’ Kirk Cousins signing is garnering significant praise both inside the NFL and out, as one of the biggest moves made across the league during free agency.

Kirk Cousins walks into a potentially electrifying supporting cast of young players including dynamic running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and prolific tight end Kyle Pitts in what is a very wide-open NFC South.

CBS Sports lists the Atlanta Falcons signing Cousins as the second-best move made this offseason.

“Cousins’ exit from the Vikings feels like the rare case of everything going well for all parties involved,” Cody Benjamin writes for CBS Sports. “Minnesota finally gets a chance to focus on the long term (and a higher-upside passer) under center. Atlanta, meanwhile, gets much-needed stability at the most important position on a growing roster that could compete for an NFC South title immediately.”

What are NFL Executives Saying About Atlanta Falcons’ Kirk Cousins Signing?

Cousins has potential to be the biggest quarterback move of the offseason, and may be exactly what the Atlanta Falcons need to maximize the potential of the young arsenal they’ve built on offense.

Moreover, adding Darnell Mooney into a receiving corps that already includes London and Pitts gives Cousins the chance to really stretch the field in the passing game.

One current NFL offensive coach believes the Cousins signing is the one move league-wide that will pay the biggest dividends of free agency.

“Obviously, it’s the Kirk Cousins signing,” the coach recently told me. “Because Atlanta has a young coordinator and a lot of young players. They’re a talented team that needed a veteran quarterback for them to take the next step.”

Cousins looks to build on a 39,471 passing-yard career with 270 touchdowns to 110 interceptions and lift the Atlanta Falcons into becoming legitimate playoff contenders and more.
