The Baltimore Ravens announced disappointing news for their defense during John Harbaugh’s press conference on Monday. The Ravens defense came up big during their 20-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday night.

The Ravens hope their defense can carry them deep into the playoffs this winter. However, they’ll have to do it without their second-round pick from the 2022 draft.

Baltimore Ravens lose a defender for the rest of the year

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Harbaugh said outside linebacker David Ojabo had surgery to repair his partially torn ACL. The surgery performed last week will keep Ojabo out for the rest of the season and postseason. Ojabo could be back by training camp next year.

The second-year Ravens linebacker played in three games and started in one this season. Ojabo recorded six total tackles and one sack this season before heading to the injured reserve after Week 3.

The Ravens’ defense has been one of the league’s best this season so far. However, losing depth like Ojabo could be costly in the playoffs. The Ravens currently sit atop the AFC with a 9-3 record.
