Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was held out of Wednesday’s training camp practice as the team waited for full analysis of a COVID-19 test that was flagged.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news of Jackson’s unfortunate COVID-related situation, which could potentially be his second positive test for the virus.

After contracting COVID-19 last season, Jackson had to miss a Week 12 start against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which resulted in a 19-14 Ravens loss.

He returned on "Monday Night Football" the following week on the road versus the Cleveland Browns, and dashed off to the locker room with cramps. Amazingly, Jackson reentered the game to throw the winning touchdown pass in a thrilling 47-42 win.

Jackson won MVP honors in 2019 during his first full season under center in Baltimore, and has gone 30-7 as a regular-season starter. The Ravens beat the Tennessee Titans on Wild Card Weekend this past postseason, and are hoping to take another step forward in 2021.

Baltimore’s QB depth chart behind Jackson isn’t great. Former sixth-round pick Trace McSorley is the next man up, followed by second-year undrafted free agent Tyler Huntley.
